ARPM speaker profile: Leah Calnan

The Australasian Residential Property Management Conference (ARPM) is one of the biggest property conventions in Australia.

We are lucky to have a range of interesting and engaging speakers coming to speak to attendees this year, including Metro Property Management director Leah Calnan.

Aiming for excellence

Leah has had a distinguished career so far, having been in the industry for over 17 years.

Now the sole director of successful business, many believe she has got where she is today through sheer passion, motivation and a commitment to excellence.

She has been nominated for various prestigious prizes and was the winner of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria's Residential Property Manager of the Year Awards in 2010.

Work-life balance

A working mother, Leah has three children under the age of six and still manages to oversee a team of 23 staff members and work closely with her business.

She is a big believer in combining both professional and personal goals, writing on her website that "every investment property, regardless of size, location or value, requires absolute care and attention so that you as a property owner achieve your life and investment goals".

Improving real estate relationships

A large part of her work focuses on helping her team and other professional agents to improve the relationships that they have with their clients.

According to Leah, this can be one of the most rewarding parts of working in the property  industry.

"The most enjoyable aspect would now be the long term relationships I have established over the years and whilst clients have seen my life evolve, I have seen many improve their own futures by purchasing property," she states on the Metro Property Management website.

Why ARPM 2012?

Aside from having a distinguished career and running a highly successful business, Leah is also a reputable public speaker.

She has been a crowd pleaser at previous property management conventions and we are pleased to have her back for ARPM 2012.

This year she will be giving presentations focusing on increasing your client list, improving relationships and service based personal management.

With a good track record in keeping her clients happy, she will definitely be worth listening to.

"We constantly get feedback from our clients that they have peace of mind with our team managing their properties. We also ensure that our property managers understand the specific needs of our investors and what their expectations are on service," says Leah.

ARPM 2012 will be held in Sydney at the Hilton Hotel on August 5 and 6. There will be a range of other speakers attending, as well as a Trade Show and exclusive networking opportunities. Register and learn more about ARPM 2012.
