AREC delegates all visit the exhibition as it is the focal area for registration, refreshment breaks and lunch. Established in 1998, AREC is a 2-day program that expanded in 2008 to incorporate the former Australasian Residential Property Management Conference (ARPM) providing property management delegates the same opportunity as their sales peers to hear from high-profile international presenters. The AREC program features international guest speakers and universal topics relevant to everyone in the industry on the first day, with the second day divided into sales and property management specific programs. In 2008 AREC also expanded to include an additional day exclusively for business owners and senior managers known as the AREC Leadership Day. Attracting 2,000+ delegates, AREC is held annually at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in mid to late May on a Sunday and Monday.The audience is regularly surveyed and - May, Sun/Mon and Sydney - are consistently the top preference. The AREC property management program attracts 200± registrations, however this does not accurately reflect actual attendance as delegates are permitted to move between programs and many principals and senior managers drop in to the property management sessions. The Leadership Day on Tuesday attracts 300± delegates of whom almost all have also attended AREC.
