Investment leadership training through online games

Earlier this month, the Commonwealth Bank launched an online game that allows investors to gain a better understanding of just how they can best benefit from current real estate market trends.

Users are invited to pick a category that best suits their position, with choices including the "rookie" for entry level players all the way up to "empty nesters" for people who have bought multiple properties and are just seeking a simulation to challenge their investment skills.

According to Commonwealth Bank's general manager of consumer marketing Mark Murray, the new game will help to remove the education barriers faced by many potential homeowners by providing them with real-time exposure to the market, including real estate conditions and price fluctuations by suburb.

Murray asserted: "The really beneficial part of Investorville is that users can, in the true sense of the term, try before they buy.

This game aims to provide potential homeowners with leadership training by utilising realistic budgets and genuine rates.

"The properties and data are reflective of the Australian property market and the types of properties available," said Murray.

In times when investors are unsure about the best way forward, providing a service that delivers the user with a similar experience to actually entering into a defined market under certain conditions may provide the Commonwealth Bank with an edge over the competition in terms of relationship development.
