Makeovers could produce better sales
Attention to detail has been highlighted as a key consideration for vendors who are looking to sell their property, according to an industry expert.
Real estate training covers a lot of ground on generating the best possible return for homeowners - and consequently a more substantial commission.
According to the chairman of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland Pamela Bennett, helping vendors to improve the overall look and feel of their property before inspection can help make a profound impact when buyers are concerned over presiding market conditions.
Bennett asserts: "A little attention to decorating the interior rooms by adding soft furnishings, a couple of paintings and fresh flowers can make all the difference to the look and feel of a home.
"Pricing your home correctly is the first and foremost consideration, but it is also a very good idea to spend a little time freshening up the look of your home before placing it on the market."
Properties can receive a range of improvements before inspection that may help to push potential buyers into sealing the deal earlier rather than later.
Simple additions of fresh flowers and soft furnishings such as curtains can help make a house feel like a home, while more serious vendors may wish to consider repainting rooms and replacing worn carpets.
