ARPM speaker profile: Bill Humphrey

Attending a property management convention is a great opportunity for real estate professionals to gain advice, insight and expert opinion from some of the leading names in the industry.

And while hearing local success stories is helpful for those looking for information about specific market trends, sometimes listening to people from neighbouring countries and cities is also a good way to broaden your horizons.

This is why the Australasian Property Management Conference (ARPM) 2012 focuses on more than just Australia - we have speakers coming from across the Asia pacific region, including our closest nation, New Zealand.

One of these people is Bill Humphrey, a branch manager with  New Zealand owned real estate company Barfoot & Thompson.

A fresh perspective

Bill will be bringing a Kiwi perspective to ARPM, using his own experience as an agent to deliver a presentation about a New Zealand case study.

And having been with Barfoot & Thompson for over 20 years, he knows all about working with a successful property management company.

Barfoot & Thompson started all the way back in 1923 as a small local agency in Newmarket, Auckland.

Since then it has continued to grow, first becoming a market leader in Auckland city and then expanding further north.

Today the company has over 60 branches and employs approximately 1,300 staff.

Knowing how to sell

Bill's expertise lies in knowing how to convert potential clients into happy customers - he is a good salesman.

Since he became manager of the Manurewa branch, he has seen its rental list grow from 170 to 600 - a huge achievement.

Manurewa is also now one of the company's top ten performing branches - it had 238 sales over the last financial year.

Experience across the board

Aside from being a fantastic seller, Bill also has experience across the industry.

He is a member of Associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand, as well as the chairman and director of the South Auckland Property Press.

What can we expect at ARPM 2012?

At the up and coming property management conference, Bill will speak about working hard, getting the simple things right and increasing your performance.

He will also share a little slice of kiwi perspective as a case study.

If you are interested in listening to Bill and other speakers, come along to ARPM 2012 at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney. The property management conference is being held on August 5 and 6 - there will also be a Trade Show and exclusive networking opportunities. Register and learn more about ARPM 2012.
