Top tips for networking
Property management conventions are more than an opportunity to listen to engaging, inspiring presentations from a range of the country's top real estate experts.
They are also the perfect time to network with likeminded individuals in your industry - you never know who you might meet, or what contact may fill the seat next to yours.
However, for the Australasian Residential Property Management Conference (ARPM) 2012, we are leaving nothing up to fate or chance.
To make sure you have the opportunity to meet and mingle with all the guests, we have organised a networking function on day one of the event.
Held at none other than the glamorous Zeta Bar in the Hilton Sydney, we are sure it will be a night full of engaging conversations and excellent food and wine.
And since it may have been awhile since many of you attended a function such as this, we have even put together some top tips for you in the lead up to the event so that you can brush up on your networking skills and meet all the right people.
Be approachable
Body language is important when it comes to networking events - smile, be confident and try to look approachable.
The right attitude will help you effortlessly start conversations and meet people, even if you hardly know anyone there.
Have business cards on hand
Slip a few business cards into your purse or pocket, just in case. While you don't want to wander around the event handing out your contact details to everyone and anyone, you may meet a few people who ask for your contact details. It's best to be prepared and organised.
Don't be afraid to ask questions
Above all else, this networking function is a great opportunity for you to hear all about what other agents and property managers do.
Ask plenty of questions, exchange ideas and enjoy the chance to mingle with like-minded individuals - nights like this don't come along all the time.
Relax
Last but not least, relax and enjoy yourself. There will be a range of canapés, beverages and even some surprise entertainment on the night.
If you still haven't booked your seat for ARPM 2012, it's not too late to get your name down. Simply head over to our website to register.
